According to world factbook there are 4.18 children born per woman in Iraq and 6.69 in Afghanistan. Why are they having all these children when about 64% of the population is illiterate. I think it is somwhat child abuse. Why doesn't the government limit them to one child per couple like communist China.

Afghanistan Fertility Rate

This is a Sociological Economic problem. It is very common. The birth rate is high and likely the death rate is high... the average life span is probably not too long either.

In Agrarian Societies it is common to have a lot of kids to work the farm and in hopes that the young will take care of the old. In modern or more industrialized societies the birth rate drops and the expected length of life increases.

Pray for world Peace through democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. If our prayers are answered they will be too busy enjoying ice cream and soccer to be making babies.

Look at Africa and India, Every third world country has very high birth rate because most of them aren't going to survive past 30 and the parents would like to see at least one of them grow up to be an adult and carry on the family name and blood.

Because guys from Afghanistan are fine as hell!! God said "multiply the world". My grandma has 10 kids!! How about yours??? Huh huh thats what i thought! Im an american girl and i don't believe in birth control o had it for 5 years and gave me all kinds of problems , i had to have my ovarie removed and fallopian tubes.....and now i refuse to get on birth control thats why america also has a higher rate of ovarian cyst, brest canver, cervical cancer, clymidia, divorce.......etc!! Don't get me wrong i love my country i just don't like making judgements on other countries because they have alot of kids especially when my own grandma has a bunch herself and i don't think it makes you better than the next person because you have less kids. As turntable says "Children are gifts from God" . How many american women wish they could have kids but can't, look at all of our kids in foster homes, cps custody, and orphans, or living with their aunts, uncles, or grandparents.....???

If they are illiterate, do you really think they are smart enough or their country cares enough about them to provide them some sort of birth control? THINK ABOUT IT! - Not even a public educational system of some kind for the masses, but they expect to be personally involved in the women's lives giving them birth control? NOT GONNA HAPPEN. IF I'm not mistaken, isn't it also against their religious beliefs to use birth control? I'm not sure on that one, but thats what I've heard.

i think they have a high birth rate because they also have a high mortality rate. and china limits children because they have over 2 billion people in their country, if they could have as many kids as they wanted, the population would skyrocket even faster than it is now.

See why countries accepts immigrants from varous places...that is required friends and completely logical.

If western countries gets higher birth rates then its not required.

Its general idea i had given....but if given statstically and logically....u may not understand if have different field of working / study.
