Hamsters eat a seed mix you can find in pet stores and supermarkets. Some are much higher in quality than others, so read the package carefully.
I strongly urge you to visit the link below. It is a comprehensive list of all the things a hamster can eat and how much. Perhaps even more important is a list of what they CANNOT eat.

you can buy a seed mix at the pet store...they also love vegetables: lettuce, carrots, and mine used to love strawberries as well. They are also meat eaters...believe it or not...mine loved his crickets! Get a hamster book or look them up on the web for more help.
