Does Labor Day weekend include 5:01 PM Friday until 8:59 AM Tuesday?

Someone told me that and they are looking forward to the three day holiday.

no. 5:00 friday to 12:00 midnight monday

Where I work it includes Thur 5:01 - Wed 8:59 unless you are the schmuck who wasn't lucky enough to get that time - But yes most people celebrate the entire weekend and Monday - Right?
