I used to live in Pgh and still live about an hour away. I enjoy going to the South Side and stopping by The Beehive and the shops. Also, the North Side is cool if you're a fan of Warhol (the Warhol Museum..they show other artists there too...i saw a Dali exhibit there...and cameras are allowed!), there's also an aviary in the North Side. Then there's the games if you;re into sports.

You have to check out "The O" in Oakland, too. Awesome food and beers.

And the Strip District is cool too. It has a ton of ethnic shops that sell tons of foods and cooking ingredients. And, on Saturdays, there are street vendors. It's the closest i've come to finding an open air market like those in Europe. If Kaya is still there, (right around the corner from Fortunes Coffee), they serve crocodile.Or alligator. I forget which. Fortunes Coffee is an awesome coffee shop if you like coffee. I used to work there for about 3 yrs...they roast their own coffee beans on an as needed basis, so the coffee's always fresh. And, their iced cappuccinos kick butt...Pat the roaster is a character with a ton of stories.

There's also the Carnegie Science Center on the North Side and The Carnegie Museum in Oakland...right up the street from the O...on the other side of the street.

That's all i can think of right now...

As far as nightlife the southside has the best bars and at most of which the crowd is college age. If anyone tells you to go to station square, ignore them. The only thing worth doing there is going on a Just Ducky Tour ( a great way to see and learn about the city). The bars in downtown especially the cultural district are more of an adult crowd, after work happy hour thing. (i.e. Olive or Twist, Bossa Nova) And the strip district is where you'll find more clubs....

If you're looking for daytime activities pirate games are great, the pirates stink but its a great place to watch a ball game... Pittsburgh is also full of museums. The Heniz History Center is pretty cool they have a partnership with the smithsonian.. Theres also the Warhol, The matress factory, The Carnegie Science Center and The Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History... Pittsburgh is also a pretty easy place just to walk around... The south side is just as fun to explore in the day as it is at night.

And you can always go and see a show... The cultural district theaters do some great stuff... The cabaret at theater square is a lot of fun... theres also the city theater on the south side that has more locallly based productions..

Kennywood and sandcastle are also great p[laces to spend a day

Poor, poor thing. That must be almost too traumatizing for anyone to survive. You're doomed.
