out of 6 co-workers, I like 5 of them. The 6th one irritates me to no end.

In my case, I'm very shallow in my realtionships with colleagues. However, now after 8 months there are a few in the office who I'm getting deeper with. It's great because I'm now befriending an average of one person from each department so my working etiquette is being mixed up on a daily basis motivating me to never be stuck in this row of cubicles trying to converse with the same faces every coffee-break or even on a daily basis.
Now, to take it a step further, if I can get in with the senior managers upstairs then I'd have a better shot at being promoted to work in an overseas branch as a manager. They say 2-3 years of strong dedicated hard-work and it can happen by bottom-up networking with your direct supervisors, their peers, and their superiors. Alas, if you want to climb up into a manager post quickly, then everyone else must agree that your performance is the most noticable of all others looking to go abroad and that you have been unpecible for a steady duration of time (2-3yrs).
"They should see you as a rising star because as we all know, the cream floats to the top." -Former American expatriate manager posted in the Middle-East during the 90's to open up several branch offices in several different countries with a VP. He started at the lowest position after 4-year biz college. But due to his ambition, formulated an agreement that after a strong and dedicated 3 years under supervision of an upper-level manager, that very manager would find him a post overseas.
To completely anser the question: Let's just say I won't overly miss the co-workers THAT DON'T LIKE ME when I cruise out of this office in acceptance of a transfer job package overseas preferably Shanghai or Shenzhen, China.

I love the people I work with. They are so open minded, funny and direct. They don't talk shiz behind your back, if they need to say something they do. The only person I don't like is my boss, he has an ego problem...but I never see him. He works during the day and I work graves. :-)

I try to get along with everyone at work.
They're all cool in their own way.
We have a lot of fun but don't hang out after.
I am really not interested in their lives outside of work.

I can care less for them. Co-workers are not friends. They are some strange form of mutant people.
