Spend some time looking at porn. She'll beg you to go back to just playing computer games.

Make sure you're getting As and Bs in school. If you're getting any Cs, your mom's right. If you really are getting great grades, try doing a chore first, like emptying the dishwasher or taking out the trash right when you get home and make sure you've got your homework done first (when it's not summer, of course). In one year, you're an adult and you've got to be able to go to college or get a job and make it on your own. Computer games ain't gonna cut it. I'm 35, married and own my own home. I play computer games about 2-3 hours a day. I also have a full time job as a network administrator and my wife doesn't have to work. So make sure you've got things lined up and then you can play games.

Good luck to you.

Chances are you can't change her mind about computer games. But you should try to explain to her that it's important for her to accept you as a person. That means that you're not always going to fit up to her standards because you have your own mind, your own thoughts, and your own feelings. You can't live through only what she wants, you have to live a full life. You will never be happy, if you don't have the freedom to do what you want. It's part of what makes America great. You're fufilling your obligations and you're getting good marks to boot, you have the right to do with yourself what you will in your freetime that makes you happy.

Try playing some puzzle based games?

Personally I'm 24 and I love playing PS2 games and RPG's.

Mine was the same way, the wench. Time to move out, get your own place and live your life the way you want too not the way other people think you should. Cheers and good luck!

They're just another form of entertainment. They might not be mind developing, but neither are many forms of entertainment (consider reading magazines, watching movies/television, or listening to music).
