It means you got a copy of an email that someone sent to others. The original recipients can see that you got a copy of it. It is a good way to make sure that a superior has a record of what you sent, or it makes the recipients aware that a superior, or other important people, has a record of it too.
When you "bc" someone, it means that you've sent a person a copy of an email but the original recipients don't know you sent it to the bc'd person. Or, it means that you got a copy of an email but the original recipients don't know you got it.
Many people use "bc" to send blanket emails to their whole address book. This way each recipient doesn't see everyone else who got the email. It's a good way to keep your address book private while still sending one email to the whole thing.

It means Carbon Copied. It goes back to the time when notes were writen on paper and when you needed several copies, carbon paper was layed down between the sheets and the pressure of the pen would transfer to the other pieces of paper. Some forms and documents are still done this way.

cc means carbon copy-- old term from when letters were typed with three papers attached-- the original paper, carbon & the 3rd paper which had carbon copy.
now means that the original letter is sent to the recipient, and a copy is sent to you so you are aware that an answer has been sent; (or a copy has been made for your file)

It means that the email was sent to someone other than you and you were sent a copy of it. It stands for carbon copy, a throwback to the days of typewriters when a piece of carbon paper was used between sheets of paper so an extra copy was made.

You're being copied (i.e. carbon copy). Think of it as an "FYI".
