It's not a right as much as it is an invitation for communication. Regardless of the question, regardless of the answer, who cares. Why do people answer the questions - 1 They have the answer or at least believe they do; 2 They have a whimsicle remark to the question; 3 They ask the questioner for more information, 4 They just want two points because they are bored. Then again 90% of the questions asked here are also because the questioner is bored.

The fact that it was posted on Yahoo! Answers.
Just like you did! LOL!!

BTW - I don't know who will have the "correct" answer. Maybe I do, maybe I don't. It's up to the person who asked the question. I answer some questions to try to "help" or to give the questioner a new perspective. Ask the planet and you'll get a variety of answers. Everyone is being negative because you are questioning their "Rights".

Like Armand the vampire said, "You asked the wrong question."

Maybe I don't have the right! Maybe I just don't care whether I have the right or not! I might just be that guy who goes around answering everyones questions without so much as a " May I ? ". Maybe when I was younger I had a traumatic experiance when I answered a question! And what gives you the right to ask a question about my right to answer their question?

I have no right, I have an opportunity. Speech is free and the asker is certainly free to ignore me. In answering, I develop my own thinking about the question. Maybe I am answering for my own edification.

Expertise, degrees, practice, and extensive experience in a number of areas, gives me a "right" to answer many questions.
Do you have a problem with that?

What gives you the right to ask what gives others the right to answer questions? :P

The fact that it is a question gives you the right to answer it, a question is by its nature meant to be answered.

Who's questions? in general this IS a public forum to ASK for answers., if they don't want to hear the answers they are looking for, then they should go somewhere else to ask them.
