because these people are given everything that they find it boring. They have no risks to undergo to achieve anything. And with this, they seek for activities that can keep their blood rushing. With this, they engage with drugs and alcohol.

Other teens does this noty because of boredom but to seek attention from their parents who are seldom home. Having everything is not a guarantee of happiness. With this, they look for attention and love from others.

You've got to understand them...

For one thing, if they only "seem to" have everything, lots of times what they lack is a spiritual dimension. Also, some drugs really do make a difference in that regard, but also carry great risks with them. The obvious example is LSD, which I stopped doing not because it was illegal, but because it was too hard to know what was the result of the drug and what was the result of other forces: my own mind, outside influences, etc. With the "thrill" drugs, such as ecstasy and cocaine, it is the fact that they get jaded. Ordinary thrills like movies or love or a good detective novel, or even the roller coaster down at the boardwalk, get lost in the search for a specific sort of rush.

If someone with a hole in their heart or soul has enough money to try to fill it with drugs, they will pour drugs into the hole. Someone who doesn't have the money is actually better off, as they will turn to friends, to the library for an inspiring book, to religion or whatever. Drugs are easy for the rich, which is the one really bad thing about being rich.

Then once they are involved with illegal drugs, they are involved with the people who take the risks involved in supplying such drugs, and with those who must use lies and violence and the threat of violence to protect their own illegal activities.

So can't we end the drug war now and stop all this nonsense?

Not everyone who has everything does drugs or live wacky lifestyles. However, those that do are living a life of illusion. Thinking that because they have everything nothing is impossible in a negative way therefore they abuse their bodies and do not know limitations upon getting caught up in the whole illusion of it.

Going for drugs and other similar stuff can be attributed to many reasons mostly exploring new experiences or as a reaction for something else like being unhappy.. Being miserable has nothing to do with rich or poor.. in both cases unmotivated people find reasons for misery.. infact it is known that the poor tend to use drugs more often than the rich.. in both cases I do not imagine a happy and satisfied person going for drugs.. whereas being miserable means a kind of unbalanced mind and emotions that would tend to extremities ..for example in case of anger we do not expect a person to act the right way..

wow..this has been on my mind lately too with the recent Warren Buffett charity give away. I guess he is an exception for not being a whacko.

Well.. a middle class person can appreicate life fuller in the materialistic sense. A new car will thrill a middle class person for quite some time, the same car or something way better will give only a moments happiness to a person who has everything. With nothing to cherish, their emotional outlet becomes whacky behaviour

because material possessions don't equal happiness, being in a sham marriage or having children who wont talk to you doesn't equal happiness... drugs or "wacky" lifestyles just make it easier for people to deal with how unperfect thier lives are.. (not saying it is healthy.. just easier to deal with)

Idle hands are the devils playthings.

If given time to think, men will eventually come to see themselves and their world as their greatest fear.

I think it is because it becomes too hard to make their life look perfect.

The pressure is on them just as much that has it rough. No one is perfect, i guess.
