Let me start by saying I too am a Dodger fan. Weaver next Fernando for Weaver's sake lets hope not. Fernando was a flash in the pan. He had his amazing Rookie year but things went south from there. Aspiring to be another Fernando would not be a good thing

Weaver is a dominating pitcher who is running on talent, not luck, luck is winning one or two games, but the guy is 12-1 this year including the minor leagues...I am a Mariner fan myself, so I hate the guy, but I cannot ignore his value as a fantasy pitcher in a keeper league...Also, if it helps any, Weaver's only loss this year was his first start, to the Las Vegas 51s. Most of the players in that line-up that Weaver faced are wearing Dodger blue...(And the 51s roughed Weaver up in his first start after his demotion, but the bullpen could not hold it)

No,
1) Weaver isn't even the best rookie pitcher. There are Liriano, Verlander, and Papelbon.
2) Johan Santana
3) Roy Halladay
4) Weaver can't keep this up.
5) Johan Santana
6) Oh yea Johan Santana

It is way too early to be crowning Jered Weaver with anything more than a spot on the Anaheim starting rotation. Tonight's win against the Athletics was his first win against a winning Major League team.

Through 6 decisions , he's pretty darn awesome. He just threw 7 shutout innings tonight and looks unhittable at times. I would wait a few more starts to make that comparison when teams get a second look at him and scouts see his weaknesses. I say he's about as good as a rookie pitcher as I have seen in a long time. His ERA is just over 1 run a game and he's undefeated on a team without a lot of bats. He looks like another coming of Mark Prior or Johan Santana.
