The flights that crashed into the WTC, the Pentagon, and United 93 were undecidedly a battle in a war. I disagree however on it's start and its apparent direction. The first WTC bombing and the Cole definitely alerted us to the Al Queda threat and the US and the Clinton administration did it's best to counter this threat, although they were unsuccessful. When 9-11 happened, the Bush administration knew of the threat and did their best to corner and capture/kill Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Since then, the war in Iraq seems to have nothing to do with the war on terror (I'll give more specific info at saxman953@yahoo.com, it's not prudent here). In a long answer to your question, we are always at war. Sometime, the target is decisive and direct like WW2, but other times, it's indesriminate like the war on terror. For example, why was Iraq such a great target when North Korea has such an international openess about it's abilty to launch a nuclear weapon? After all, that was exactly what we went to "war" for?
In short, we all know that we're at war, and we all stand beside those who serve for our country. We may not agree with the orders that send them to wherever they fight the battle, but we all hope and pray that they return safely. And those who don't, I pray, and I'm sure millions of Americans do too, that they return safely.

No one has forgotten what happened about on that horrific day. It truly was an act of terrorism, however it was provoked by the United States and some of its allies. The problem is that we never really understand what the purpose of the reason WHY we were attacked. There are two answers 1.) [this is what our government has been feeding us] they hate our freedom and 2.) [and this is the correct one] Osama does not want our military base on his Holy Land. If you dont believe me look it up. He never cared about how we lived our lives, he wants a respectable hegemony. Now before everyone starts flaming on me: I DO NOT, and i can't stress that enough, believe that killing of innocent civilians is EVER the right thing to do. Whether the killing is part of a extremist religious faction, or by the US government ( which some would argue is a bit of an extremist faction- but I wont go there). Anyways, enough said, what do you guys think?

Its a great piece of propaganda, I find it interesting that you are asking us to remember 9/11 when we still don't know what really happened on that day. The 9/11 commission had no explanation for why WTC 7 went down, in fact they barely even mention it. Not to mention documents from PNAC, Operation Northwoods, and the Downingstreet memos. I want to remember 9/11 but it hurts too much to know that this stuff will never get a legitimate investigation.

what does Iraq have to do with anything on 9/11??? the terrorist was Binladin...is the killing of people on 9/11 justified by the killing of more people? what is wrong here? i understand why we went into Afghanistan but why are we in Iraq? you see a Hollywood movie and think that its a documentary film? do u have family dying over there in Iraq? do you live in NYC? what gives you the right to justify the war? when Bush cant...

I saw the film the day it opened, and I am (at least as far as I can tell) the most expert person on film here.
I agree we are at war. From the moment the second plane hit the towers I knew we were at war.
BUT, I know we're not supposed to mention Iraq, but that's not where we need to be. I agree about the film. It blew me away. I was right back where I was on that day.
That said, it doesn't make me think Iraq was right. But it did remind me what we're fighting against.

What is even worse is a small group of fanatical people that don't believe we are at war; and actually believe we made it happen and are responsible for it ourselves. Its really ugly out there; and the worst part is if those who don't remember were at war win in the comming elections - those people that did this to us will be empowered to do even worse things in the future. We ignored the first WTC attack, we ignored the US Embassy attacks in Africa, the attack on the USS Cole, and finally they got our attention on 9/11 - to some that attention span is already gone.

United 93 was a very powerful re-enactment of people trying to regain their power over terrorists ... the first time I watched it, I almost cried. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. There is something telling about human nature in that film.

That became the completed purpose of the movie. yet regardless of this, Oliver Stone is to blame of an similar ingredient with Born on the Fourth Of July , JFK and Platoon. those type of videos carry decrease back very unhappy suggestions for me.
