Dude, the playa you're lookin for is Charles Barkley. He started way earlier then Duncan. Age 14. Bout 1st year H.S. He's one of the most celebrated players to have never celebrated with a championship. He like lived near a farm when he was a kid and practiced his skillz there. like in jumping back and forth over a fence. NO wonder he's like big ben- small guy but led league in rebs. he's one of my idols when i am training. His work ethic is incredible and i follow his example so i'll get better. Peace man....
Hey Duncan's just tall... advantage?

Well, I dunno about any answers to your initial question, but I do have some advice for you. Think about how many people there are in the NBA. About 12 players per team, 30 teams. That's 360 people in the NBA. These are people drafted from all over a world with 6 billion people. Making it to a high school basketball team won't guarantee a spot on an NBA team. If you believe that you're that good, then go ahead and pursue your dreams. But have a backup plan. Consider other careers as well.

Tim duncan, get to practice on that footwork. Also, dont worry about the NBA at this point, work on getting a division one scholarship, if you have the talent you will make the NBA, if not why not get a high class education for free. Good luck and work hard.

Tim Duncan, Manute Bol, Dikembe Mutomboas well as some other African players. the one thing these guys have in common is they are all very tall which made it easier for them to adjust to the NBA, i don't know of any guards who started late considering that it is a position with lots of skill. Good Luck.

Steve Nash didn't even know what basketball was until he was in high school. He played soccer before that and could have gone pro if he didn't decide to go to the NBA.

Yeah, Tim Duncan started in high school.
Also this year a guy name Saer Sene was drafted in the first round. He'd only been playing for a few years but his height and athleticism warranted him being such a high pick, I guess.

Shawn Kemp (Sonics) came straight out of high school at age 17. You can also read up on Kevin Garnett & Kobe Bryant.
