I don't know. I'm in computer science, and I say do whatever you think you're going to enjoy the most. If you like what you're studying, you will be better at it and surely someone will hire you. I know some mechanical engineering students and some computer engineering students. They all seem to enjoy what they do for the most part.

Don't worry too much about what career you're going to choose. I used to think a lot about it, and I still do from time to time. I changed my mind several times before I chose to stick with computer science. I'm still not sure if I will do it forever, but the only way to find out what career is best is to try some of them out. You should be able to get a better idea about how well you like various fields when you start taking college classes in those fields. Good luck!

It depends, do you like to set behind a computer all day and deal with code or do you like to be more hands on? There is a wider field of jobs that a mechanical engineer can do that most of the others can not. I am biased though since I have a mechanical engineering degree and hate being tied to a desk for 40+ hours a week.

Depends what you want your job to be, but I think in the real world both degrees can land you in the same job in many instances.

Your choice:
Mechincal-work with your hands.
Computer-work with computers.
