I'd really like to hear it from the faithful, the brainwashed, their actual reasons. The Atheists' conjectures are not that interesting to me.

I have a hard time believing I evolved from a fish to a monkey.

The bible has been around a long time, longer than the scientists who say we have evolved.

The bible makes so much more sense. I am a believer...not in the monkeys. But in Christ.

Thanks for posing the question!!

Would like to have been on the other side of this argument but I almost agree.

No reason why there shouldn't be a god - to many questions left unanswered if there was if you ask me - but you didn't.

Is it obvious however? I don't think so. Open your mind a little. You don't have direct evidence for this, and what you do have is hearsay.

It is people like you who give logic and reason (and Science) a bad name. Start with a falsifiable argument. Whilst God was created by Man is...

Consider the argument God IS. This is not falsifiable. We cannot scientifically test it. One must have faith.

I'm afraid that you and I will just have to lump it. We will never understand what it is like to have faith. (Or rather you might, judging by your question you would appear to have some faith in logic and reason.) Perhaps the best answer we can get is some kind of obscure evolutionary reason why they should believe - you know, like not just commit sucide, and instead raise a famility etc. Why atheists don't is beyond me - I guess there is no good reason to kill ones self today, as there is to live to 100.

not nessesaraly. answer the old question. which came first the chicken or the egg?Neither the idea for a chicken and an egg to carry on life came first.
Man has created many variations on what the creator is but why should you be afraid of that which created you?
the prechristion bibles.even the jewish torah answers this question i the first part of genisusbefore the creation of the physical univerise that weknow.
nothing became omething and became aware of its self and became lonely and spun of motes of itself that became known as the souls of all the things that would follow.
when the phiscal world was created some of these souls entered into the animals that were also created and enjoyed it so much that they forgot where they came from and couldn't seperate from the physical bodies that they got stuck in.
The fear of the Creator of all things comes from the garden of eden story and its aftermath. christion religion has dwelt on this lost of innosense to the point of parinoia of and act that was most likely knownen to happen by the creator by forbidding adam and eve to eat of two trees. we can see this act repeted in our own lives and those of our childern. tell someone there is something they cannot have and they will find a way to try it to see why it was forbidden. and the circle of life goes on with no lesson learned from the experance.

Man (and woman) has a need to be in control or to believe that something is in control. He needs to explain what he doesn't understand.
Creation and evolution can be one and the same but the truth is that we don't know much about either and it is unsettling to most people.
I am not among the "faithful" or "brainwashed" as you put it. I subscribe more to native american spirituality but not to any particular creation stories, doctrines, or creeds from any one group as they are all made up tales including Christianity and other large organized groups. If I were to believe any it would be among the most creative and free such as how grandmother spider spun her web......

it's really a part of the religion. No one actually knows if there's a real God or if there's none. But it's still part of the religion. Yu couldn't make a choice but to believe in it. Besides, you won't lose anything even if you would believe. But no one also forces you to believe. Many believes again because it's part of the religion. We can't do anything about that, even if they have the fear for God. It's up to your faith.

photo that God is a guiding rigidity that delivers the varieties and common sense for the vast Bang to apply. there is ability (the Bang) even though it choose actualities to purpose at. A rationalization why there is order as a replace of chaos. although that is a delicate God who works by using foremost and persuading, not capturing lightening bolts at absolutely everyone who displeases his royal highness (an theory borrowed from the Romans i imagine). So issues bypass slowly, continually in route of larger and extra pleasant existence. after all, the universe is God's conciseness, the reality that delivers him some thing to pay interest to.

LOLOL ...

"stacking the deck neatly"

humans have an innate urge to create gods if they can't see them directly.

tho you may not want to hear my conjectures, I note that
you capitalize "Athiests" and put "believers" in lower case.

the Buddha is reported to have not been able to meditate his way thru to perceiving a "God" .. nor did he say that it was particularly helpful to "attempt to know" unless a person already had their lives already under their own ccontrol and NOT subject to the whims of passing illusion samsara ... and I've not seen evidence of any person THAT enlightened in all my internet viewing ... go figger

Time. People have believed in Christ for 2000 years. People have believed the world is not flat for 500 years. Which has more seniority?

well, according to the religion of Islam, god created us.Therefore,we need to fear them. While some other religion whom you said "God was created by Man, Why so many believers? Fear of God?" is a psycological thing. When they "create" a god, they believe that's their creator. Therefore they are afraid of their god.Lets say for example, you "create a god" you wouldn't say you create this god right?Maybe one day you'll understand.

peoples beleif in god stems from the beleif that we are not as strong as we are, as a race, not as individueals. if people did not beleive in god we would be so cocky we would probably be at war even more often than we are now simply because that guy said i wasnt the best person ever, rather than because that guy doesnt have an imaginary friend.
