What's important to realize is that America is a continent, not a country.
America composes the three sections called North America, which is Canada, Nova Scotia and the United States; Central America, which is Mexico, Panama and other parts of the Yucatan peninsula; and South America which is, amoung other countries, Brazil, Argentina and others...
So, if you can't find America on a map, then that must mean that you're blind and you aren't using a braile map...
America was actually named by mistake...When famed map maker Amerigo Vespucci charted out the coast of the eastern American continent, the map made it's way back to Europe, and Amerigo's signature was plastered across what is now the United States MidWest..(nobody knew what was there yet) and the Europeans thought that that was the name of the land, so they called it Amerigo...which later became America.

Look at a World Map and find the United States. That's North America. I"ve pasted a reference site of a map of North America. South America is the huge country South of the United States with Brazil in it.

Look at the world map and I am sure you find America on the world map. If you are still unable to find then you are looking at some other map or a blank paper.

Google maps shows you North America by default. Check out everything between Washington, Maine and Texas. Scroll left to find Hawaii.
