A lot depends on where your neck is swollen. If it is near your throat, you may have mononucleosis. If it is swollen closer to your ears, you may have an ear infection.
Please be more specific. At any rate, it sounds like glandular swelling which would make it hard to turn your neck. Need more information.

most likely a viral infection, if lymph node are up it could be bacterial infection as well, could be abcess tooth giving rise to trimus, if continue recomend the E.R.- try to get your immune system more functional-eg. food is your best medicine.
