Why do some female celebrities get stick thin? Do you think this is attractive?

If celebrities were normal-sized, I don’t think there would be that many people wanting to be skinny.
just what are young girls to make of our ever-decreasing celebrities? And why are our role models getting thinner while obesity and eating disorders among children and young people are on the increase? I think there's a lot of pressure on celebrities to look thin and have the perfect image. Like rapper Missy Elliott before her, when Kelly Price first entered the music business she bucked the trend that said you have to be skinny to make it in the music industry. But some years after Kelly made her proud to be big statements she re-emerged as slimmed down version of her former self.
I think there is a link between skinny celebs and increased eating disorders among young people because, "whether or not you're interested, there are people on the TV like models and presenters who are thin and you're like, 'I want to be that thin."

Celebrities who publicly lose weight and then make videos and books promoting their various diets, are helping to sustain the problem
I don't see the point, because they should realise they're setting trends, it's good to have a healthy build but not to be stick thin."

It's pressured on them by Hollywood. Stick thin girls get the leading roles. A size 6 is simply unacceptable. Lol. Just like in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. The media/press put a lot of pressure on females in general to be disgustingly skinny.

some female celebrities get thin stick because they watch what they eat they exerisce for the wrong reasons some of them may feel like they are fat when they are not fat at all no this is not attractive at all men now a days like women with meat on their bones not a stick figure women

In our society, it's believed to be beautiful. There is a lot of pressure to become thin in order to get roles. Personally, I think women should have curves. Not look like sticks.

Maybe they don't have time to eat that much, remember they are really really busy, filling up their schedules...they move around constantly, and they work out...I mean just try thinking about it, where do you find time for them to sit for hours in front of a TV and eat junk food. That's my answer.
And not all are attractive, some look better some dont.

Because they believe that it is what people are expecting of them. Also, they are afraid that if they gain weight, they might not be as famous/popular as they would be if they were thin. I don't like it. Lidsay Lohan was beautiful before she started starving herself and became reed thin.

Well to be fair the camera does add 10 punds so they have to be thinner. Celebs need to look good to get work and right now the crack whore look is in. Personally I'm more partial to the heroin look.

they do it because the camera really does add 10 lbs, and studios, prodcers and directors know this. The sad thing is that the actors buy into it, and their decision affect girls worldwide. It isn't healthy, normal or attractive...

Because there is alot of pressure in hollywood to be thin.fat means no work.usually.there are some celebrities fighting against it.queen latifah,beyonce,ricki lake.tho i think she may be trying to get skinny.
