Go to DSHS. Tell him who the father is, They will run a paternity test. When it comes back positive he will have to pay child support. If he does not have a job they will add it up so when he gets a job all his $ will be yours. If hes man enough to have sex he needs to man enough to pay. You are a walking billboard. I hope one teenager learns from you and waits.

Well, it sounds like you have a tough road ahead of you. I really wish teenagers/young adults would wise up and be more careful about who and what they do. Now a child will be born without a father who cares about it and this will cause resentment for everyone in the long run. Watch out because if your so called former "boyfriend" is already acting uninterested you can bet he will do what ever it takes to keep you from getting anything. I know of a similar situation where the baby`s father never worked and he put everything in his new girlfriend`s name (such as his car, apartment and other things he owned) so he never had to pay child support to the mother. I hope this dosen`t happen to you. Some men are really immature and selfish and they never take responsibility for their reckless and irresponsible behavior. Why don`t guys be more careful? They bug the hell out of you to do it and then when you do they can`t even pull out before they come! Idiots!!

I feel that if he's old enough to make a baby he's old eough to get hit with the responsibilities. The only time it's too early is while you're still pregnant, but after the baby is born....take action. He might not have the money now, but he will get a job one day, and back pay is something else.

Yes you can put him on child support. In some states the baby daddys mom will be responsible for your child till the daddy is able to work. The legal age for a teen to work is 16, I dont know if its like that all over the United States. But here in Texas he can and if his able to work then his able to pay.

Maybe you should have thought about how you were going to support a child before you had sex. I guess it's too late to tell you about birth control and safe sex.

As far as child support laws you might want to contact a lawyer, you can find lawyers that will help you for free on the first visit, just look them up in the phone book.

You can't put him on child support at any age. That is an issue for the courts to decide. And remember, money paid by the child's father as child support is not your money. It is the child's. You are equally responsible to support the child, physically, emotionally and financially.

Nope, he can start paying now. You're an emancipated minor now and he needs to support at least the baby, if not you too. Get all the money you need from him while you need it most (for doctors bills, baby supplies, etc). I think he can start paying child support before the baby's even born. Make sure you explain his responsibilities to him sternly. And talk to his parents too. Explain that it's his baby, not theirs, and he needs to pay for it. If he doesn't have a job, he needs to get one ASAP.

not really sure, suppose it depends where you live but i'm going to guess that if 16 is the legal working age there, then he is old enough to get himself a job and pay some child support!
