the other answers of it running at the slower speed are right for the most part but i have also caught my motherboard on fire mixing ram, ( OK, so the ram caught on fire but it was still bad) that was b/c the slower ram tried to run at the higher speeds and over heated

Maybe, if the board and RAM support running at 266MHz. When you put RAM together that have different speeds, it will run at the speed of the slower RAM. Not all RAM will run at slower speeds though.

probably, but at best it will run at the lower bus speed (266). At least you used to be able to do that with older chips, I'm guessing its still the same.
