Yes, it was. In case you see the replay, you'll easily notice that the defender didn't touched Henry that much, and even when Henry went down, the defender was already down for a bit.
The french player let the ball escape, and then proceeded to dive in order to get that penalty kick...

Now most people here are not reading the question properly.

Thierry Henry did dramatise the foul in the SEMI finals against Portugal to get the penalty - as someone rightly pointed out, so the referee could see the foul - there was contact, and it was a foul, but if he hadn't fallen over in the way he did, he wouldn't have had the penalty decision and the foul made him miss a goal scoring oportunity.

HOWEVER you are asking about the QUARTER finals, ie against Brazil. Zidane assisted Henry to score on a free kick, caused by a "foul" on Henry. There was no such thing, he dived outrageously. Nevermind, the goal was perfect, the finish was beautiful and France deserved a goal against Brazil, they dominated throughout.
I was highy disappointed that "Titi" would dive, had never seen him do that before, and never since.

ALLEZ LES BLEUS!

What maybe you are trying to ask is whether Henry made the foul look worse than it was, in which case the answer is yes, however the call was correct, as it was a foul on Henry. By rule, any player making contact with an opposing player and by way of that contact impeding him/her from playing the ball is a foul with very few exceptions (shoulder to shoulder, protecting the ball etc.)
I know that professional players look like sissies, but you have to remeber that in football the referees need to see the foul to call it and players often dramatize the situation in order to get the call. Finally, just for your knowledge, if you watch the slow motion replay of the foul you will see that Henry was looking at the ball when he got taken down and as such probably threw himself more instinctively to protect his foot rather than dive to attract attention. The final verdict is that when you slide tackle in the penalty box you either get the ball or expect a call such as the one Henry got.

Of course it was. These soccer players are the biggest bunch of wimps the sporting world has ever seen. For God's sake they need to have stretchers brought out everytime one of these skirt wearing sissy boys takes a tumble. What a completely boring and gay sport soccer is! A bunch of jag offs running around for an hour and a half only to have the outcome decided by a jerk off refs decision or a lucky goal. Booooooooooring! Maybe if they had two balls in play at the same time it wouldn't be such a colossal bore!

Abolutely not. The initial tackle was clean. But, as Henry started to pursue the loose ball, the defender kicked him and tripped him. The referee did a great job. Check the replay.

there is not some thing incorrect in any team aspiring. All they opt to do is to finish properly on a particular day. also, WC matches have continually thrown up surprises and upsets. So, some thing can take position. I wish them reliable success and need they placed their effective foot ahead.

maybe but the rule is that a defender cant touch a players legs when he is trying to get the ball in the penalty box so that way it should be a penalty
