Swimming would help... you do have to get back up to the surface.

SCUBA: Yes -- you need to have some basic water skills. Before you dive, you must be certified. Any certification program I am aware of requires a swim test. These are not onerous but you are required to be able to ttread water for a period of time as well as to swim a minimum distance.

DIVING: Yes. You leave the spring board or platform and land in deep water. While it is not a long distance, you need to be able to swim to the ladder.

Note: If u wanna dive widout being able to swim u r free 2 do so provided u agree dat it will b ur last dive

no swimming and diving are 2 whole diffrent sports but they are counted as 1 team u don't have to be able to swim to dive u just have to be a good diver to dive

If you want to do scuba diving - YES - before you can participate in a scuba dive course, you must be able to swim

If you are talking about scuba. There is a swimming test. You must know how to swim.

its helps...one time at a swim meet, our divers did a relay...its was really fun! you just need to know the basic stuff of all the strokes

No but hope its shallow water or else your going to drown.. But you will probably break ur neck if its shallow... so ur screwed find another sport honey!!!
