How long does it take for birth control pills to start working. I started the pills on Wednesday, which was right when my period ended. Has it already been enough time for them to prevent me from ovulating?

I'm married, and have a 13 month old. I haven't been on the pill for a couple of years, and I forgot all this stuff.

the pill starts working as soon as you take it and remeber to take it everyday and don't skip a day even if you feel sick to your stomach if you have to take the pill with food.

Your pill should work after 7 days. If you have any questions, look in the information packet that came with your prescription.

2 weeks of continuous use should be all it takes. it depends on the type ur taking tho so check with ur docotr. and keep using condoms unless ur with a long term partner in a monogomous relationship and uve both been checked for STDS.. its not worth the risk. good luck.

I think because you started it after your period, it doesn't actually start working until after your next period.

I started mine on the first day of my period and was covered from day 1.
