Well a good poker player knows how win with the hand he is dealt. So no passes there. A lot of other Presidents had it much worse and brought this nation through the storm stronger than it went into it.

And clearly not everyone hates Bush. My conservative friends who bashed Clinton every day for 8 years don't want to hear anything bad about their "Boy" even as he performs about as well as US Grant. In fact he might make Grant look pretty good decades from now, when people read about this time in American History and wonder "What were they thinking!?!"

And Bush (or Cheney behind the curtain) have pushed executive power to levels that most Americans should not be comfortable with. Those who are back him because they believe he will push their agenda onto their fellow Americans.

In summary, I don't hate our President, but like a child in the crystal department at Famous Barr, I worry what he's going to break....

I don't know why! It's pretty stupid why people serve any hatred towards our President.
This is what really gets me. Clinton had an affair with a 20 year old female it's not that big of a deal. People still vote for him twice! When Bush is trying to help our country and protect our freedom all some people do is complain. If he could he would make gasoline a dollar a gallon again. No President can control cost in our country. He is and is trying to help though. Mr. Bush is proposing a new law that would allow more oil drilling in Alaska. But thanks to our wussy enviromentalists, they think it will ruin the enviroment. Despite the fact they still drive cars, use electricity, and don't car about how much is paid for gasoline.
For the war, if we didn't have to go to war we wouldn't. But would we want terror attacks throughout the United States again? I don't think so!

But I totally agree with you-He has had a rough job! War, Sept 11th, possible terror attacks. You name it!.
By the way, you question is a good one!

One, most Americans have no idea how our government actually works. I would lump a lot of our elected officials into this group also. The government has become a complicated and convoluted set up.
Two, the media. You really think that we have a fair and balanced media? Just think about every time you watch a news segment. It is usually what 5 to 10 minutes at the most. Really, do you think you are getting the real story or the story that will boost the stations ratings?

I don't hate bush....

I think he is really not focusing on domestic issues, but too rapped up in international affairs, and I am not sure that will really help our country in the long run....Ever heard of getting your own house in order before trying to get someone else's house in order?

That's sort of how I see bush....But I don't hate him, I just think his priorities are not in the right place. Also, military spending is by far the greatest expense with our govt. I know defense is important, but as with all things there needs to be balance. Over half the budget is spent on defense. Imagine if you spent more then half your budget on say food? How long would you last, before eventually losing everything and becoming obese in the process?

I disagree with the world hating Bush. Their hatred is towards the USA. Bush from the get go has had 911, bin laden, Iraq, Iran Enron.... oops, i forgot, first he had to deal with the recovery of the stolen furniture fro the white house, not to mention reclaim the white house to get the world to respect it for what it stands for....he inherited the backseat of the oval room girl boy making whoopee. i dint agree with all current policies but he set the world straight. we are not in the entertainment biz, which is why the media doesn't like him either. We were the laughing stock of he world, now the world has to deal with what is really going on and it's not pretty. bush is showing the world we are a democracy like it or not we stand up for it even if other countries cant stand up for it, we, the USA, stands up for them. that's pretty grand.
he who does nothing never errs. I'm proud of our cowboy, i don't know who else could have dealt with it any better and we wouldn't have given him round two if we didn't think he could handle it.

The pres dosent really have the power. The House and Congress do. The president is nothing more than a face and a scapegoat for the government's mistakes.

maybe but he is the face, we at other places don't know the full workings of the us and don't wanna really anyway.
but we have the basic understanding about the right wing push groups row Chaney and the rest.
but as i said bush is the face and his face shows dumbness arrogance stubbornness all in one
it appears the choices of war was made regardless off ant wmd outcomes and finding a Link to terror seems to be drawing a long bow.
don't worry though i am Aussie and think the same if not less of our current government and would whack England in there as well
to me plot long lost

Because he used our fears from September 11th to drag us into a war that the people who paid for his campaign really wanted from the time he took office. Because he attaches signing statements to laws about torturing people that say the law only applies when he feels like it. Because he condemns leaks that hurt him politically while leaking information that helps him politically. Maybe its because this war has accomplished nothing so far except to generate anti American sentiment throughout the world. Do I need to keep going?

People need a scapegoat. They can't take responsibility for their own situation in life.
