The Sun, will last for 5 Billion years as it is, a few million years as a Red Giant, and finally tens of Billions of Years as a White Dwarf.
Inhabit another planet in 5 billion years? I think there is plenty of time to worry about that later. ;-)

According to current theory, the sun be stable (although very slightly increasing in temperature) for about 5 billion more years. Then it will blow up into a red giant and consume the inner planets (destroying the Earth), before eventually shrinking down to a relatively cool and small white dwarf, leaving the rest of the solar system to freeze.
For some perspective, the dinosaurs were around until 65 million years ago or so, and all of human civilization is only about 5000 years. So there's plenty of time to find other planets, or die out as a species for some reason, or evolve into something else, or some combination of those.

First question: 3-7 billions years from now.
Second question: If we don't kill ourselves first here by causing another iceage and we survive past the current political moras of nationalism etc. mankind could potentially colonize most of the known universe in that time. Moving from one plantary system colonize that one and move on to the next.
Could this happen. Yes. Will it happen? Maybe and Maybe not.
There is no single species that has ever lived on the planet earth that lasted more than a million years. Homosapiens have only been here a short while and they have already ruined the planet and the planet is gearing up to elimate man. Global Warming and the coming Ice Age. So our chances of getting off this rock are not good. Would I like to be one of the people to colonize a new planet or become a space farer? Sure if I am going to dream, Dream Big. Do I expect that in the next 500 years we will get to that point? I don't think so.

Our sun is believed to be middle-aged, so it is believed to be around 4 to 5 billion years old. Scientists believe the sun will last for another 4 to 5 billion more years. Then the sun will run out of hydrogen to fuse and will have grown into a Red Giant, burning up Earth and the other nearby planets.

I don't rely on scientist when it comes to them knowing how old something is and when it will burn out according to things in space like the sun and other suns and planets. For me I think that the earth is only a couple of thousands of years old according to the bible and so the sun might not be as old as scientist say it is. How do they measure that stuff anyways if they can't get to the sun or even touch it? so in short I don't think that their calculations are correct as to when the sun will burn out.
Why are you worried about that antways? I don't know why we worry about these things when it isn't going to happen in our life times.Oh and We are never going to get to another planet so that we can destroy it like we did earth. God won't allow that. We reap what we sow, so with that said if the sun burns out then we'll burn out with it. Don't worry it won't hurt, just a little prick.

Im not sure what scientist believe when the the sun is going to burn out, but I do believe that since their is other galaxies in space that their is another Earth with human life forms, but thats what I believe.

Scientists need more things to do with their time instead of speculating on things. They do such a dis-service to humanity when they play their gussing games that only revv up fear and spread dis-information.The sun is a frequency burn,no nuclear reaction,no fuel to run out as it is being produced by the frequency of our universe, and there is oxygen being produced there by frequency also, just as our grid produces oxygens for the sustainment of life on this planet The study of cymatics will get you started as to the lattice that the universe is structured with.

About 5 billion years. Humanity will have needed to find another solar system by then, to survive. Chances are, some other cataclysm will have wiped humans out long before that time.

It will burn out in 5 billion years. We most likely will be long gone from the solar system or we will have evolved. Got it from DiscoveryChannel and Discover Magazine.

Because if they believe that than they have the world in a iron grip as we would need them to save us. It certainly won't burn out though.
