Many do believe this, but some assumptions must be made here.
1) If they are more intelligent, it would reduce their overall genetic superiority, so WHY would they even want do that in the first place?
2) If they really wanted to do that, then they would likely be changing for the worse - which supports the "redneck" theory, although there are too many dissimilarities for that to be truly viable as a hypothesis. We don't know whether or not such a union would actually result in someone that backward.
3) The end result would be the same. Even if they wanted to take over, intelligence (or lack thereof from the hybridizing) would prevent it from happening. If they were more intelligent to begin with, then they would already have thought of that as a possibility and it would be ruled out as an option.
4) They would only hybridize if it were beneficial. If that's the case, then logically the only reason to hybridize would be to gain intelligence - or some physical benefit not linked to intelligence. Perhaps they would need a better muscle system to be able to maneuver on Earth.
5) No matter what you believe, until it's proven it's all just so much conjecture.
6) Could it be happening? Yes, it could. Is it likely? No.

Personally, I think it's highly likely that questions like this generate thought, but remain in the realm of fantasy.

Kind of cool....

Yes, it's true. This subject was covered by Professor Kevin MacDonald, Department of Psychology at California State University, in his book "Culture of Critique."

What's going on is that the aliens are selecting from among themselves those individuals who most closely resemble humans. These mate and produce young aliens who also resemble humans. The process is repeated in the next generation. After several generations, it becomes difficult for the real humans to know who's human and who's an alien impostor.

However, the aliens have secret ways of knowing who the other aliens are. For example, they sometimes pretend to be a religious community.

Once adapted to look like us, the aliens go around taking over the mass media, the government, the banks, and so on, and soon we will all be their slaves, working for what they are willing to pay us, if anything. They'll "own" our planet, and we'll have to act only in accordance with their wishes, or we will be executed. In the parts of the world where the aliens are most in control, the humans are already being shot by alien soldiers, most recently, for example, in Gaza.

False. It's just "a monster under the bed" sci-fi gimmick.

Why would they want to? Would you want to hybridize with an alien? Hopefully not. You would become an alien to your own race.

Nor would it seem possible. The genetic systems would be entirely different. Humans can't even hybridize with other forms of earth life, how would it be possible to do so with aliens.

*sigh* After reading the other peoples answers I must agree with Dr Hawking- HOW ARE WE GONNA MAKE IT ANOTHER 100 YEARS WITH RETARDED ANSWERS LIKE THOSE?

OK, I'm done whining- the quick answer is ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO BREED HUMANS WITH ALIENS UNLESS THEY BOTH HAVE SIMILAR DNA, AND ITS DONE IN A LABRATORY!

Think this out people! You can't even breed humans with primates- in spite of Rosie O'Donnel's life to the contrary- even in a labratory. You're talking about normal mating of "aliens" with "humans"? Not gonna happen.

*Pass's around asprin to the others who answered this quesition* Here, take this with a glass of water, eat something first- obviously, it hurts when you try to think, this asprin might help
