There is only one reason why people don't choose to use the spell check. They assume they are right! It's hard to imagine how most people got through school at all. I worked as an executive secretary for many years and typed reports from people of all educational backgrounds. I was very surprised that even people who have a Ph.D. can't spell and don't have a clue about grammar. I found myself correcting papers as if I were a teacher in school. To my surprise though, most of the authors challenged me on the changes I made. I have had to get a dictionary out on many occasions to prove a point.
Sometimes not using the spell check can subject you to Internet predators. I buy and sell on EBay and through discussions with others I found that there are people out there that prey on the poor speller. They intentionally put in misspelled words in the EBay search trying to find a person they feel can be a target. I guess the thieves think people who can't spell are stupid. Personally I use the spell check so others won't think I'm stupid or lazy! lol

Hmm and I never get messages from trolls wanting their penis size evaluated. But would consider messages from trollets requesting breat evaluations.

One thing though, if you type a really long answer, the spell checker won't work. I've had this happen to me a few times.

Well..some people are focused on content and not form. I too am a stickler for perfection...however, to make a point, if a group of folks had stopped reading in discust at "Wee the peeple......"...where would we be? Lighten up.

Some people don't want to take the time .If someones impassioned with the emotion they are trying to write they make mistakes,and don't bother.Besides,why be so anal retentive?

Takes way too long and who really cares. Does it bother you that something is spelt wrong . Plus it filters out any cool writing

Because people really think they are smart. They think they can actually spell, or they are too stupid too care.
