Why don't the female and the male beta fish fight when you put them together to breed them? And how do you tell a male beta from a female beta?

Maybe they like each other? A male should/ will have longer finnage than the female, brighter/ more vivid colour than the female, and last but not least, only the female will have a white dote under the stomach which the male don't have.. if unsure, you can ask the shopkeeper where you get you fish from anything you want to know.

Hy there! My real name is Danilov and I'm a vet specialized on exotic and tropical fish. I have over 150 species in my private aquarium(s). I think I can help you with your question.
I'm a long time Betta breeder. The male will not fight with the female, if he likes her, in the sense that Betta's chose their partners.
After she lays the eggs the male will certainly kill her if you keep her in the tank. Put some aquatic plants in the tank , a variety whose leafs float on the surface. The male will take each egg and place it in an air bubble. And will take care of the young-lings until they are all formed, and the alevins swim around in the tank.

actually a male and female WILL fight unless she is in her breeding pattern....
you can tell them apart by the small white dot on the females underside ahead of the larger fin... they are sometimes plainer than the male but they are breeding fancier females all the time and even the males are considerably fancier than in the wild so a fancy male will think a female is another male

No, they are going to strive against viciously. and they might have thousands of fry and they are very puzzling to look after and could be separated even as they enhance. the purely way you could have Bettas mutually is once you've 5 or extra women (not adult males, and a minimal of 5 or you could probability struggling with/lack of existence) and a huge, heavily planted and heated tank.
