to me it means a person who doesn't act like their self, they act like another person to fit into a social group. they are posing to fit in.

a poser is someone who is either a wanna be or a person that puts on an act to get attention. so basically every rap/hiphop artist that ever existed is a poser. haha

The correct spelling is poseur, it means a person who affects an air about them or a mannerism that is meant to give an impression to others.... In music and other circles a poseur is someone who pretends or acts like they are someone special when they are just an ordinary person.
Not a genuine person or talent.
