old fashioned musilage glue was made from the hooves of horses and cows, and some glues were made from horse hides. so yes, but im not so sure much of it is made from that anymore.

Back in the old days, Horses were slaughtered for their hooves.
If you've ever examined a horse hoof that has been soaking, you notice it takes on a rubbery feel. When you get a horse's hooves trimmed, the trimmings will be moist -- almost sticky.
Horse hooves were broken down and used for glue.

horses now are being killed mostly as a result of production for a female hormone replacement product used by millions of menopausal women - known as PREMARIN
PREMARIN is estrogen made from PREGNANT MARE URINE - in case you cant figure out.. mares are kept in stalls for 22 hours a day with bags to collect urine - they are not cared for in the way most horses are cared for and their foals are considered "by-products" of the industry - therefor are slaughtered and the mare rebred....
woman can get estrogen made from YAMs and stop this cruel industry... its not glue we need to be afraid of....

yes horses hoofs along with cows are still used to make glue also jello yes gellitin is melted down hoof :)

Yes, but not as much anymore. Now they are often used in dog food. Gross and horrible but sadly true.
