As a former Craftsman salesman, I can tell you for sure that you can not take the wrench back due to cosmetic complaints. If it breaks, possibly. I have heard that since K-Mart bought sears the Craftsman warranties have changed.

Yes, lifetime replacement warranty. And now also do Husky tools from HDepot. I think Lowe's may have a warranteed brand also.

Rust is considered abuse. Just like using a screwdriver as a chisel. Don't waste the gas. They not going to exchange it.

They propbally won't replace it just for rust if it still works, but if it won't do what it is supposed to then they will replace it.
