Depends on your definition of porridge.
In Asia, porridge is cooked from rice. Rice with alot of water is cooked slowly over a small flame. Over time, the water will evaporate and the rice cooks. It won't look like normal rice you see in Asian restaurants. This rice is much softer and looks like one big pudding. That's 'porridge' from Asia.
Usually cooked with anything you want- fish, chicken, beef, veggies, eggs, etc.
No way does it taste like oatmeal.

Yes porridge is pretty good (the way my dad makes it anyway). I don't really like oatmeal. The porridge I eat is with yellow hominy that is boiled. Then sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, mlk, and nutmeg are added. It's delish!

The only porridge I've ever had was served in Scotland. They kettle was too hot though, so the milk scalded and curdled. It was gross. Just make sure not to make the same mistake!

They're the same thing - porridge is cooked rolled oats.
I have it every morning for breakfast - yum! It's high fibre, low fat and lowers cholesterol.
