Since most fans (not all) of the Beatles seem to listen to nothing but classic rock and such....then, if the greatest band in the world existed and broke though now, how would these middle age music fans realize it? Therefore, the Beatles would not be as popular now not solely for the reason above, but also the number of really good bands (more competition) that were around in the 60's.

As you must know they are the inspiration for many bands today because they created a genre which was unknown at their own time. I agree that they wouldn't be that popular now because the music is already done and heard. It's like Chopin or Mozart, will they have that international acknowledge for composing music if they live today? In the present time there are great composers that you can't even imagine, maybe one of them were more famous. As Lennon said, "Before Elvis there was nothing". I say "Before The Beatles there was Elvis only"

NO WAY! Good music is not popular any more. They would not fit into the MTV culture. They wouldn't be that marketable. Good Question! I wish I could give you 10 points for this question.

No they would not. To be popular today you must have nearly no musical talent and the songwriting abilities of a 5 year old.

I don't know. The Beatles are pretty cool, though. They could make it in today, I think.
