Yes, I believe in a higher power...a thing bigger than us and this place we call earth. I don't think it's just random...that we just live and die end of story. I think there is more to it than that and that's where God comes in. No, I don't believe in God as depicted in paintings and I definitely don't believe in mankind's habit of making religion and God into a reason to fight, but I do believe there is an energy, a power that we are all a part of and can rely on. Is it perfection? We are mortal, so that concept would allude us. To our little minds if it isn't perfect for us, it's just imperfect all around. Anyway, so yeah, I believe. :)

Yes, because without the existence of an eternal, omniscient God, nothing ultimately has any meaning whatsoever.

Explanation: According to modern physics, the universe, if left to run on forever without cessation, will someday experience "heat death" -- the condition in which all energy in the universe has been converted to heat, thus leaving the universe in a static state where life is incapable of existing. Essentially, the universe will be "dead" at that point, and sentience will cease to exist.

Now, without the existence of a sentient being to appreciate all that has gone on in the universe for the billions of years prior to the universe's entering the state of heat death, how can anything that has ever happened have any meaning whatsoever, as the very concept of "meaning" implies the existince of a sentient being to whom the events in question will "mean" something?

Put another way: An event is only "meaningful" if there exists a sentient being who (1) has observed the event and (2) appreciates the significance of the event. Therefore, the existence of an eternal, omniscient, sentient being -- i.e., God -- is necessary to give anything and everything which happens ultimate meaning.

I was not raised religiously, I went to bible school when I was young and that's it. There are many explanations out there as to why we are here, And don't get me wrong but I think the Israelites wrought the Bible to protect themselves from the Palestine's. To scare them into leaving them alone. I respect all religion, and beliefs, Everybody needs something to believe in.. I do have a lot of morals That come from the commandments, But life in general has taught me more then what the bible holds, If god had anything to do with the bible, It would have been more focused on nature, and keeping the Earth pure. Not man kinds endowment to pain, and reason. Whoever made it, was not thinking of the future, but only the times at hand.. Thats just my opinion,, And I am nobody.... Enjoy, Peace! Thomas '73

This is not a toughie at all. YES I do beleive in God. Just Look around . How can you explain manhood and the creation of life if there is no higher being. There is something higher and more powerful than you and I.

I would say no. The ideas of religion came at a time when most people believed that the Earth was flat and the stars were mere dots in the sky. While it's possible that these people were right about the existance of God, it's too improbable for me to drastically change my life just because of its possibility.

Yes and no. I believe that there is something out there. I just don't think that we as humans are capable. There are things that I can't explain and to say that it is because of a super natural being is a tough call and to explain them by simply saying that it is just a series of events spawning from one pivotal moment... just as hard.

I think that I believe to an extent because of hope that there is something better out there but stop at the fact that there is a logical answer for everything in the universe and cannot disregard certain details that surround us on a day to day basis.

Look at it this way "GOD" how ever you see, worship, or feel "it" is nothing more than a summation of All that Is. Nothing else can explain our existence, or, really the existence of anything, other than to come to the realization that all things began somewhere, at some time, with One Thing. That one thing, whatever you like to call it, is, for all intents and purposes, called, in the West, 'God'. So yes, the greater Source, the One Source, is real.

No, I do not believe in God, I accept that God's existence is a possibility. I do not accept any Dogma that cannot be proved and since God can be neither proved or disproved logically, I can spend my time trying to be the best person I can be, instead of worrying about details like this.

No I do not believe in God. And this is because the science has show me already without a doubt, that he is imaginary. Man invented God, and so the Devil, neither does exist. But instead, life divides into good and evil, and the balance between then, this is real.

I do believe in God, however... I refuse to participate in any form of religion... The God I believe in doesn't need me to go to the fashion show on Sunday morning to wave my flag and prove to the others that I am one of them.... I believe that spirituality and religion are two very different things!

I know that this will not make any since to some of the people reading this! I'm OK with that.... Most of them don't make since to me!
