I notice when actresses gain a little weight, those "celebrity magazines" start calling them fat and all kinds of names. And I look at the pictures and think "that's not fat!". It's called curves. Maybe actresses read those and think they have to lose their curves.

They feel like they need to be beautiful so they try anything to lose weight. Which makes them look ugly. They should stay the way they were before becoming famous. There is a lot of pressure on them. In magazines they are accusing them of being either too skinny or too fat. They are under a lot of stress.

Because Hollywood has a fixation with skinny and there is so much pressure on these people to look good! Remember what they did to Kirstie Alley when she gained weight! they wouldn't leave her alone. The only thing I've seen her in since her weight gain is Jenny Craig commercials! They don't want fat actresses.

Because the directors, producers, etc., and even the public expect them to be skinny as a rail. How many times have you seen an overweight actor/actress? Not many. So, they feel they are left with no alternative but to starve themselves, or throw up. They feel they have to stay skinny if they want to get more roles in movies.

Sad, but unfortunately true.

In this industry personal appearance ranks higher then talent in many cases. So many under stress and so much competition strive to be perfect. They look in the mirror and do not see perfection even if they are beautiful. They try every diet fad, pill, surgery etc., even if it is not good for their bodies'. Later it becomes a habit like drugs or gambling and it is hard to stop.

Because they always have to try to look thier best. When on tv it adds an extra 10 lbs. They always have the press on them and everything. They try to be perfect and with out relizing it they just develope an eating disorder. They don't relize how ugly they look when they r skin and bones.

yeah I wonder that to..but this is a business and there is alot of pressure and people behind the scenes that you dont know about constantly telling them to do this or that or look this way...I mean if your in the spotlight and you see yourself and then someone else comes along that has something you dont then theres the image thing again...but alot of them do need to eat...and its a shame the hollywood feeds off of them being that way...they have something to say about everything whether someone has a lil extra then this person....then when they lose it then that blows up and it gets worser

There's so much pressure in that industry. Celebrities are constantly ragged on for being too heavy or too small or too this and that. It's ridiculous and it's taking an effect on others who want to be like the celebrities too.

And that picture that you put in your question is repulsive.

because theres a big pressure out there for them to be skinny and this damages them psychologically cos they all want to be skinnier than the other until they develop an eating disorder!

i believe that this is because of the way people view women these days. people view women by their looks, not personality. so, actresses see themselves as have to look perfect. which, makes them think they are not, which leads to eating disorders. which in the long run..makes things worse.

but that is just my opinion
