I don't have my belly button pierced... I imagine it would hurt a lot. In most places 18 I believe. Don't know what they do, and depending on how your mom takes on issues with you in general will determine how she reacts to this. Deep down why do you want to do it?? It is something that you should not do yourself.

The area just above the belly button has few nerve endings. Get an experienced piercer;even the best can result in an infection. Wait til your 18, then you know more of what you want. The area is clamped, an antiseptic is used and the area is pierced with a sterile needle.Don't pierce yourself because of infection, possible tetanus, and not doing it in the correct position which results in a lop-sided presentation of the chosen jewelry. Right now you might want to start a collection of jewelry for the future in which you and a good friend can perhaps enjoy the experience and memory together.Have a nice day. Stay safe and healthy.

1. Do not do it yourself! Go to a trained professional!
2. Yes it hurts! Especially your belly button, since that is wear a lot of jeans rub your body. Piercers tell everyone to keep it coverd and wear loose, preferable elastic, pants. Like sweats.
3. 18 years old, UNLESS you have a note from your mother or father stating you have their permission.
4. The bellybutton isnt the worse place to get pierced. At least you can stop wearing a ring in it when the novelty wears off. Its not permanent, like a tatoo.
5. Ahhh, it depends. Can you keep it clean yourself. Willl you follow the instructions for caring for the piercing. And sometimes it takes a while for a piercing to heal. Ouch.
6. No piercing guns. They do it with a needle. Yikes!
Hope this helps,
Good Luck!

first what you want to do is numb the area with an ice cube
then stick an apple half on one side so it will catch all of the blood
stick the niddle through the bottom part of your belly botton
once you have the neddle all the way through take it out but have a regular small hoop earing ready then you will have to gage your belly button to the size of the earing and there you go and later after it heals gage it again to the belly buttonring size and then you are done
it may hurt but i won't lie it does hurt when you gage
just don't let your mom know until you think she is ready to know
it is up to you if you want to do it or not
a belly buttonring is just decoration for the body
oh yeah keep it clean
the way to do that is use poroxide and neosporine
trust me on this i was shown how to peirce any part of the body by a professional peircer so i know what i am talking about
if you have any more questions just get ahold of me on here

When you get any piercing it may hurt. I have my belly button done and it almost made me pass out but I have a lot of other piercings too and they didn't hurt. I guess when it comes to pain it depends on how much you can handle. Its a VERY BAD idea to do it yourself cause I have had friends that did their own and it got infected and very nasty looking for a long time. In all states you have to be 18 to get it done since by law you are an adult. Now, if your mom is the kind that wears belly shirts you may can tell her that if she gets hers done can you get yours but that always doesn't work. If you do have your mom say that its ok for you to do it then go for it be sure to take good care of it and if you dint like it you can always take it out.

Kid, listen carefully ok? When you do things today that seem really cool can look really stupid 30 years from now.
Don't believe me? See some of the picture of women who had breast implants done 40 years ago- and they're in their 80's now. They look horrible! So after you've thought on this- like for a week- then do it ok? Now, heres your answers:
1)You take alcohol, a series of long straight CLEAN needles, ice if its avaialbe. First, clean the area VERY WELL with the alcohol, AFTER you've cleaned the needles and make sure theirs bandages available. Clean it, ice it until its numb, then stab it- then insert the item you want the hole to grow around. Thats pretty much it.
2)Its gonna hurt- and its going to hurt all the time until it heals. Depending how long it takes to heal, it could in theory kill you- a fast way would be a brain piercing (Yes, this has been done- guy used a drill) the slow way would be an infection, and it could take weeks or months to die.
3)Most places you have to be 18 to do it.
4)To convince your Mom, depends on what you want pierced. If its your ears, ask her to have ONE pierceing done in EACH ear- in the ear lobe, to see if its OK.
5)Personally? No, you shouldn't do it. Not because of the health risks, but because of the scarring. You get them pierced today- and 5 years or 10 years from now, you may join some kind of religious cult (Jehovia Witness as an example) when frowns on jewelery. They could look at your ears and know that at one time you had jewelery- they wouldn't be so crude as to tease you about it, but it'd be there in the back of their mind.
Consider this- see all the people with tattoo's? Now see all the people who are getting tattoo's REMOVED?
Consider my little brother (Laughs) Had his first wifes name tattoo'd on his arm, it said "Erin". His Second wifes name is Francsis- guess who gets really angry every night she see's the word "ERIN"? My little brother now has a Rose over the word "Erin" tattoo'd to cover it
6) Theres a national chain called the "Piercing Padgoda"- they use a pneumatic (Fancy name for air powered) needle that not only makes the hole, but inserts earring at the same time. Some people go to Tattoo Parlors where they can do piercings of the naval, or arms or whatever.
Good Luck

1.how do i do it myself?
it's not a good thing ,because ,first it will hurt more, and if not done properly or taken care of you can get infected.
on the other side, if a professional does it, by the time you realized he did it the pain will start fading away.
2.does it hurt?
yep, it does, the first pinch does, if it is the tongue it will hurt for the next days or so.
3.how old do u have to be?
the older the less pissed your parents will be :)
4.how do i convince my mom?
grab a shiny object and start swinging it in front of her eyes repeating "you feel eveery sleepy".
Probably you won't convince her,but try anyway.
5.Should i do it?
that's your decision.

1. Don't ever try doing it with a safety pin. Lol. Personal experience. It's not sharp enough and it hurts, bad.
2. I don't know where you want a piercing so I don't know.
3. You can be whatever age as long as you have parental consent.
4. Tell her REAL reasons as to why you want it and don't just say "oh, all my friends have it" parents never care about what your friends do. they aren't your friends parents. lol
5. Don't do it yourself. If your mom finds out she might be really mad and it is more likely to get infected.
6. They sterilize a needle and poke it in and then put the ring in it.

speaking from personal experience. piercing by yourself isnt a good idea ! it could get infected and you may not have all the supplies that are really needed. and yes it does hurt. you have to be 18 to get it on your own. unless your mom comes with and signs a paper.i dont think you should do it. convincing your mom is the hard part. make a deal with her. tell her if you get all A's for like a year or less then she should let you get one. deals are the best way to go with parents. good luck
