Those neon yellow dudes were HARSH!!! Bastards!!! During last night's match, the commentator was saying how referees should referee based on what they're observing and player/team history, NOT on what they hear and see from the MEDIA!

I DO,I DO,I DO. I SOOOOOOOOOO TOTALLY AGREE! I THINK THEY'RE JUST TAKING SIDES, LIKE YESTERDAY THE MATCH BETWEEN PORTUGAL AND GERMANY, ONE OF THE GERMAN'S WAS SHAKING HANDS WITH THE REF AS A FREE KICK WAS GIVEN TO THEM AND THEY WERE BOTH SMILING AND WINKING AT EACH OTHER!LIKE THAT ISN'T BLAITENT! I THINK WE MIGHT AS WELL TAKE SOMEONE OFF THE STREETS TO DO REFEREEING,AT LEAST WE KNOW THEY WON'T BE BIASED!!!!!!! aaaahhhhh, i feel so much better now, letting it all out!

Ref's calls definitely ruined some games this Cup. But I blame FIFA more than I blame the refs themselves. Being a ref is an impossibly difficult task. A person in the blink of an eye can't possibly see everything that's happening on the pitch. Refs are bound to make some bad/incorrect decisions. But when FIFA encourages refs to give out more cards in an effort to protect players, that means that a ref's bad decision will have a much bigger impact on a game. And that hurt this Cup. Incidentally, I don't think the bad decisions were from bias so much as they were from human error.

Hell yes good point girlie...ive noticed that alot during this world cup...the refs are getting a little carried away in some matches calling the most ridiculous things while during other matches where theyre killing eachother the ref calls nothing!! Like that game with italy vs australia...the ref totally gave italy that win calling a foul that didnt happen the last minute of the match...im not saying im for the aussies or anything but even italian fans were agreeing it was wrong...its absurd but what are you gonna do..it happens for almost all sports and games...i guess we have to just agree to disagree...it pisses me off though..but seriously refs DO your Bloody jobs out there!!

ok here is my stance. I believe that the refs are taking a lot of unneeded heat from this world cup. New rules were put on the refs this cup. FIFA actually said to them before the cup that if they didn't hand out cards and call things tight they would be no longer allowed to ref the world cup games. So they are getting pressure from both ends. As a ref/ varsity coach/player myself i know it is like watching three different games when you are in each of the roles. so as spectators we see things cause it is on a large screen and have a over head view, but as a ref you don't get that luxury, and you need to rely on good positioning and the help of your 2nd 3rd and 4th official (not so much the fourth but he is there too) so as far as bias no i think they called the games quite evenly the whole way through. as far as the cards, fifa said we want cards handed out this cup, and basically said its that or your jobs, so yeah that is why we have the new record for cards

refreeing wasnt it's best.one refree gave 3 cards to one player and 16 yellow cards in a match is too harsh
