I'm not much into Asian cultures but I have to admit that these two
countries really appeal to me.China is the largest nation in Asia but
Japan is the strongest economy there and the second one in the world.both nations have a lot to offer therefore I wouldn't rank neither as the best.

China is communist and Japan is a democracy, similar to the USA. For that reason Japans economy is vulnerable to ups and downs similar to ours.

China has the "freedom" to force their citizens to work as slave labor, giving the government more power in regulating the economy.

One thing that sets them apart if the Sea of Japan and N and S Korea. I see China mores as overpopulated by about a billion people. Japan does not seem to be so over populated

Japan learned their lesson well (Nagasaki, Hiroshima...ring a bell?) wheras China has failed to even notice the greatest act of mankind. They have 4gotten history and as the saying goes...

china is stringer as they can't fill enough jobs right now. its cheaper for companies to do business in china with labor and such. japan is even having many things built in china as its cheaper to them now.
