There are lots of Bride magazines in the bookstore you can look at. But your marriage should be just that- you can get ideas and take a traditional ceremony as a base, but make it personal and make it your own. traditionally, the bride's parents paid for the wedding reception and the groom's parents have the wedding rehearsal dinner a couple of days before the wedding. I think the groom's parents also pay for the flowers and the brides' pay for the invitations. the bridesmaids usually pay for their dress and the bride gives them gifts. Also, bride's parents pay for the cake, and anyone can pay the band if you have one (or DJ)- the band or DJ will tell you how they announce the bride & groom, the parents the wedding party, and they announce the first dance, throwing the boquet, etc. You have to reserve the church, and the reception ahead of time. You also need to order your dress ahead of time, as they take a long time to come in, and get fitted, etc. When i was married, my husband paid for the honeymoon. Best Wishes!!

maybe hire a bridal consultant.the maid of honor is your right hand "man',she helps pick out the dresses, gives you a shower, bacholorett party, and is wittiness to your wedding, the brides maids are family members/special friends that want to stand up with you. the flower girl carries a small bouquet, sometimes dropping flower petals for the bride to walk on(check your church, chapel, synaue gog for rules),ring bearer is a little boy, ages 3-6 carrying the rings on a special pillow .the ushers show everyone their seats the best man, male version of maid of honor, grooms men, same as bridesmaids, the numbers have to be the same, all the gals need an escort, congrats, robin

Your maid of honor helps you do all the planning. She also ends up being the one there when your up 2 nights before the wedding trying to put those damn pouporri bags together. Normally she is your best friend or sister. Your bridesmaids & maid of honor throw you your shower. Your parents pay for everythig except rehearsal dinner(his parents pay for that- they can also fork in for the honeymoon) It's customary for you & your mom to fight a lot till after the wedding when you send her a big ol' apology letter for being such a b***h & what a wonderful mother she is. lol
His best man helps him do all the planning & the guys get together & throw him a party.

Go to the library and take out a book on the subject. There is too much to cover in yahoo answers.

41 anantha is right. If you're the bride, you have to dance with everyone, and cut the cake with your groom.

This is something you can find in books, or ask wedding directors if it's going to be formal.
