I think for both the answer is Insecurity. I don't think the average woman is ever happy with herself. The media and society make us always long for something intangible.

I'm 15 and I want to grow up so fast because I long for something more than the halls of a high school and the material items teenagers obsess over. There's so much more to the world and when you're young, you're completely sheltered from it. I want to experience so many aspects of life that I'm just too young for in the eyes of society. I want to grow up because I want to live my life, my way. Not how a parent/guardian sets it out for me. My mother left when I was 7 years old and my father has been very sick since I was 4. I've had to grow up mentally already. I've had to mature and I had to take on responsibilities that most people my age, never would have even dreamed of. I want the rest of being an adult. I like the person I have become because of the way things have turned out in my life and I want to continue on MY path to happiness and not what someone else tells me to. That's just me, though. Most teenage girls want to grow up for stupid, selfish, shallow reasons like so then they can spend all their money on $400 Gucci sunglasses or so they can go out whenever they want. Most teenagers are completely oblivious to the fact that to get anywhere in life you actually have to work and go through hard times and not everything is just handed to you unless you're "daddy's little princess".
Older women, I honestly, just think miss their past and want some way to connect to the younger scene. I have no clue. I'm not old, yet.

Many young girls measure themselves up against the perfect pictures presented to them of women in magazines or on TV. The women they are trying to be like themselves don't look like that in real life. A make up artist just spent three hours doing their makeup and hair. Someone enhanced the picture to make it look even more perfect. Young girls are exposed to some many adult ideas through the media unsupervised by parents. How could they not be even somewhat influenced by what they see and listen to everyday? Older women are of a different generation. Times were different when they were growing up and they probably were not as overly indulged as kids are today.
There is no age limit on happiness. It's a matter of heart. A purity of spirit. It's being true to you.

It seems like a lot of the younger crowd is persuaded by the media ex. videos, magazines etc. Most of theses kids don;t have their own identity. As far as the older woman It's like they skipped over their youth for what ever reason and now they want to re-live it.

Becuase when you're young you think you know everything and want to jump out there and do what you want. When you get older you realize that you don't know **** and want to go back to carefree days.

kids wana be older so they can do stuffs that the stupid adults dont let us do, we wana go to this cool place, adults wotn let us, we wana go ther, adults wont let us, adults forgot that when they were young they wanted to do all those stuffs but now they dont let us, that why those girls wana grow up fast, because the things they cant do is because adults wont let them and they think that if they are adults they can do it, its adults fault, i hate them so much
