You probably just get bored with them. Even making more money, it's still the repetitive work of the job. You get used to the extra money right away, and then it doesn't feel like a good reason to stay at the job. At least that's how I feel. The only way I could stay at a place for more than a year was work at a large corporation. I was there 7 years, but I got 7 promotions, so really it was like 7 different jobs during that time.

Job hopping isn't a good thing to have on a resume because potential employers wonder how long you'll stay with them. If I don't think you'll stay , then why should I spend money and invest time in your training?

Yes, we'd all like to make a decent living and earn good money, but reality is that many if not most workers are underpaid and live paycheck to paycheck.

Now there's a huge difference between taking a job that doesn't remotely pay the bills, say a $15K job. I've lived on jobs that pay $25K. Didn't live high on the hog, and didn't save much at all, but you do what you have to do.

As you become more experienced and rise up the ladder, your pay will go up. And plenty of people out there work multiple jobs to make ends meet.

Sad that people have to do this and that we don't save much, but we survive as best as we can.

My suggestion is to take a job that pays a "decent" rate of pay, be willing to work multiple jobs, and just realize that you're not along by a longshot and this is the way of the world.

Steady employment is what employers value most because it signals willingness to remain. They'll say that investing time and money in a person like this is worth it because they'll benefit and profit in the end.

Money isn't everything, but it does provide freedom from worry and freedom to do what you want and go where you want to go--there is nothing wrong with having high standards and wanting more! Some jobs will pay more the longer you stay, if you sit down with a manager and explain why you deserve a raise. If you have been working just to get a paycheck, they might not feel that you are trying to contribute to the success of the company, because you are just going through the motions.

On the other hand, some jobs pay crappy wages because they want you to work as hard as possible while they pay you as little as possible. Minimum wage is a company's way of saying, "we would pay you less, but we are not allowed to." These might be okay temporary jobs, but not suited for you in the long term.

If you are ambitious and want to work hard, why not get a good sales job for a reputable company. That way you can never complain about your paycheck, because it will be a direct reflection of how much effort you are putting into it. You'll be most successful, though, when you work with the customer's best interests as your main concern and not how you can fill your pocket. As you help other people get what they want, you'll be able to get you want.

At this point, you have created the expectation for possible employers that you will be moving on in a short period of time. Knowing that, you most likely will only be offered low paying bottom of the totem pole jobs. You need to stay put and maybe work two jobs for a while to show somebody that you can stay put it you put your mind to it, and to be able to pay those bills!
Think about what you enjoy doing in your free time. Then try to think of a job doing something related to that. Probably not right now, but down the road. That will give you something to shoot for.
You need job stability on your resume now!

I am the same way, and I finally figured out my problem. I get bored easily with a job, it don't challenge me like I would like, so I move on to something that is more challenging. I have worked in the Construction field for more than 15 yrs. and I'm only 31. I work at factory jobs or warehouse jobs, but I cant stand to be inside. So I became a auctioneer.
