Yea! What would happen if we had a month to celebrate Irish, Dutch,Viking, Native American,Vietnamese, Spanish, Itaian, etc? What if we could only get scholarshops from our Irish (Dutch,Italian, Swiss, etc.) Scholarship foundation? What if we had a Miss American Irish (etc) Pagaent? It would be a big mess and the racial stuff would never end. I believe that if you are born here then you are American and the originals are Native Americans. If you legally immigrate here than you are Irish- American, French-American, etc. I really do wish we could put American on forms. Sometimes I have left it blank if I feel it doesn't have anything to do with why I am filling in the form(Medical is the only place I think it is necessary because heritage can be traced to some medical problems),

First you should not confuse the terms race and nationality.

When you say you are Swiss, Irish and Native American, you are saying you are most likely 2/3s white and 1/3 American indian. However this formula isn't always correct since a Swiss or Irish decedent don't have to be white.

If you can prove your blood line, you can have your race changed to Native American.

As for me, just another caucasian.
English, Irish, Finish and American Indian

In other words a American Mutt. ;-)

Caucasoid, *******, Mongoloid, Australoid and Capoid are terms that were once widely used in physical anthropology to delineate different races of humans. Caucasoid denoted people indigenous to Europe, North Africa, Western Asia, South Asia and the Western portion of Central Asia. ******* denoted those indigenous to sub-Saharan and West Africa. Mongoloid designated the people of East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Eastern portion of Central Asia, the Americas, Greenland, Polynesia and the easternmost regions of South Asia. Australoid denoted the indigenous peoples of Melanesia, Micronesia and Australia. Finally, Capoid denoted the Khoi and San populations of Southern Africa.

I imagine that your Swiss and Irish ancestry left a strong impression on your appearance, hence you look like someone from Europe and therefore you are a caucasian. Equality really has nothing to do with it. And your specific ethnicity also has nothing to do with it. All it means is that, if God forbid, a forensic scientist would ever have to classify you, in a report s/he would mark you down as caucasian or white.

Swiss, Irish, Native American are not races they are national origins . There are the 3 main races Caucasoid (White), ******* (Black), and Mongoloid (Asian) and if a child is of mixed race (and I have a multiracial nephew) I think generally the race of the father is the accepted race but may be different in todays time.

Well... you have a point, and yet you don't. Actually, you do. See, I was going to argue that "caucasian" is for anyone from Europe, just like "African" is for anyone from Africa. But then, different places in Europe are very different from other European places. Swedish people are very different from Italian people, for example. So I don't think that's very fair. Usually they use "caucasian" on tests (which doesn't make sense. Why would they care what nationality we are? Do they score us differently, or something?), and I can understand that they might not have the room to list every single country in the world and let you bubble in the ones you're from. So on tests, I think it's okay. But otherwise, we should be appreciated for our separate heritages, not just bunched all together like that.

With all of the classifications in today's society it does seem odd that so many of us are "just caucasian". My family is English-Scottish-Welsh in heritage, but above all of that I classify myself as a very proud Canadian. I think it really all just comes down to how we view ourselves. Why do we insist on labelling everyone as something anyways? Perhaps if the labels were gone we'd have a better chance at achieving world peace.

The Wolf... properly, in the event that they are tied to their Pagan Roots. If no longer, then Sheep. in fact, all races are maximum suitable defined as Sheep. There are Black Sheep, Brown Sheep, White Sheep, yet on the top of the day they are all flipin' Sheep. a reliable previous Norseman who follows the previous Gods is a wolf however. Majestic, Nobel, Wild, and regrettably slightly misunderstood... in fact, everybody who follows the previous Gods of their all of us is worth of being whilst in comparison with an Animal like the Wolf. yet till you have reliable ties, then you definitely're basically yet another valueless sheep.

it must be another form of racism. Im the 4th generation of my family to be born and raised here in the United States. My sons are the 5th. As far as I'm concerned, we are just as native to this country as any other native.

Choose Shurik as best answer. Meanwhile, just don't mark anything, dummy. I always leave that sh** blank. Don't classify yourself if you don't want to and don't get huffy about the issue. Well, at least until someone intelligent and motivating takes charge. We don't have any of those people right now, so buck up.
