women do not produce breast milk until the late stages of pregnancy. colostrum, which is pre- milk comes anytime from three months on then after the baby is born, usually about three days after, the woman's milk "comes in" production of breast milk is one of the female body's responses to being pregnant and giving birth. i have never heard of anyone producing milk unless they were pregnant or had a baby.

A woman starts producing milk within a few days of her child being born. Or a miscarriage. She will produce colostrum during her pregnancy and immediatly afterwards. However, some women who adopt babies will make their bodies produce milk by various methods. Mostly pumping with breastpumps and alot of women have to use certian medications to do it too. However, women will continue to produce milk, or lactate, until they stop breastfeeding or pumping. It does not go away at any certian age. It just continues until either the shortly after the child weans, the woman becomes pregnant again (it turns back to colustrum) or some women will dry up. However, I beleive that the mothers age doesn't matter as long as she is old enough to conceive. But if she is either too young or too old, it might affect things.

Girls do not produce breast milk unless they are pregnant. If a girl is leaking from her breasts she may have some kind of infection. Breast milk production does not start until late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

You need to be pregnant to make breastmilk. With my first, I was leaking small amounts of colostrum near the end of the second trimester. With my second I was leaking by the end of my first trimester.

Something is wrong if you are not pregnant and you are producing breast milk. There could be a tumor pressing on your pituitary gland in your brain you need to see a doctor either way.

Women usually produce milk about the third day after their baby is born (before that they produce a highly nutrious liquid called colostrum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colostrum )

Of course there are exceptions, but that is the normal way of things.
