According to James Arness' info on IMDB, there were 2 miniseries and a TV series by that name from 1977-1979. None of them seem to be available on video tape or DVD.

Most places don't seem to have the one you want, which is the TV series with James Arness with the same title as the 1962 movie "How The West Was Won". However, I noticed one for sale on ebay. The link to it is below. Good luck.

I saw it but it was on old, maybe beta VCR tape. Try any movie stores to try to order it. I have the metal lunch box with James Arness on the front. It says (How The West Was Won) and has scenes of the movie. I might sell it on E Bay.
