there's something about the darkness,
the color of the sky and the moon at night.. lol

maybe because it was started ages ago
wars at night, escaping at night, secret meeting in the dark..
so that you would not be seen & caught..
its much easier to do things that some people might not approve of at night than when the sun is still up..
the sun is up, more people are awake and still around,
the sun set, then less people are aaround, more are indoors than outdoors, more are tired resting or asleep than energetic going around to see anything you do or get interest in looking at what you are doing..

it all has to do really because i think its dark..
there are some thrill & excitement to it
maybe oriented to us long ago..

Honestly, even I'm not absolutely sure what it is about night that draws so many people to it. I suppose it might be because it's a time that people don't see very often because that's when we're supposed to be asleep, apparently. I myself have accidentally over the summer started sleeping from eight-thirty in the morning until around five o'clock in the evening, and staying up all night. I have no idea why I've become nocturnal like that, or why so many other people do as well. But I digress; To get back to answering your question, my theory is that when people see things at night, it's like seeing things in another "light," so to speak. Everything looks different in the darkness, and people just like that.

My guess is that humans have evolved to do their mating rituals at night and so they try to sneak out at night.

Night gives you cover to do what you don't want others to see you doing, which is good if you a teenager and wanting to engage in mating rituals.

If the people that sneak out at night are more successful at mating than those that try to mate in broad daylight, then humans would evolve into preferring their activities that revolve around mating (like sneaking out to go dancing, meet a boy/girl friend, etc) to occur at night.

The dark, the cloke of blankness, the idea of privacy and the ablity to hide sends the message that we are hidden. We can run and duck into the darkness. Also, its the socialy accepted time for slepp, not the public world. It's a different time of life. Day and Night, Black and White, Good and Evil.

I don't sneak out but since I've had a child being out at night sems like a privelidge. Riding around with friends in the daytime: lame. Riding around with friends at night: somehow exhilarating!

I don't know.

people like to sneak out at night basically just for the fun of it. They love the fear of getting caught..and trying to avoid it

we sneak out at night because its easier to get away unnoticed as most people are asleep and it is dark. plus during the day we are generally allowed access to the world.

Cause it dark and people will not see you. That is why ninjas wear black and hide in shadows. Plus, nothing good is one TV and all the beer is gone.
