I have to say, I'm impressed with the overall discourse of the answers to this question.
Hulk vs. Superman, hmmm...?
In order for a winner to be declared one of them would have to die because once started Banner's motor don't stop until everybody's out of the pool.
Has Superman ever killed anyone? I stopped reading comics regularly right after "The Dark Knight Returns" was released and as I remember, from that point until as far back as I can remember, (1950-something) I don't think I ever read an issue where Ka-el, killed anyone.
That puts him at a disadvantage because I'm almost certain Green Skins has wasted someone before.
Not that Supes doesn't have the ability strength-wise, I just don't think he could pull the trigger when crunch time arrives. And if he's fighting Hulk, cruch time will arrive.

The Hulk could conceivably kill Superman. Although Superman has many other abilities, super speed, heat vision, the ability to fly, etc. the Hulk's advantage is he has no upper limit to his strength. "The madder Hulk get, the stronger Hulk gets!" If Hulk gets mad enough he could take down Galactas or Darkseid. Superman is like a solar battery, he gets his power from Earth's yellow sun, but a battery can only contain so much power. Once that level is reached that's your limit. Superman could never make himself stronger. Hulk also has limitless healing powers and endurance. So to the poster who claims Superman could simply fly Hulk to the upper atmosphere and let the green guy suffocate...well Hulk can hold his breath for a very long time.
Besides I remember Superman getting KILLED a few years back by a guy named Doomsday. I don’t remember any of Superman’s other abilities helping him out much…do you?
My prediction The Hulk in 15 rounds.

(Okay, firs off, my screen name is "hulksmash", so I'm probably biased :P )
-Superman is the man of steel. He can fly, can stop a falling plane, with his strength, has heat-vision, and is immune to harm.
-Hulk is the green goliath. He can leap very far, is the strongest mortal ever, regenerates damage immediatley, and can tear through adamantium (suppossedly un-breakable). The Hulk ALSO gets stronger, and more powerfull, as he gets madder.
-The main problem, though, is how Superman has been killed, but the Hulk never has been. If you try and kill him as Bruce Banner, he immediatley turns into Hulk, and regenerates any damage. Even destroying Bruce's brain turns him into Hulk, and It will regenerate. Bruce has tried suicide many times, but Hulk stops him.
-Professor X has tried to seperate the minds, destroy Hulk, and once tried to kill Bruce, all with no avail. Reed Richards (Mr.Fantastic), and Tony Stark (Iron Man), both very smart people, and powerfull super heroes have tried to find a way to kill Hulk, or kill Bruce. The have not succeded. Dr.Strange has searched the planes of existance for a way to kill Hulk, or do anything of the like to help Bruce. He has failed every time. The Hulk may be unstoppable. Hulk's strength increases exponentially with his anger. He has not even taken a scratch from the most powerfull alien weapons.
-Superman was from the red sun of Krypton, and moved to our yellow sun. He gained his powers this way. He has withstood a super novae (as has Hulk), and, by all known means, is only weak against Kryptonite. He is immortal on Earth, basically, without it.
-The fight would last for a VERY long time, with superman constantly beating down the Hulk, but Hulk would just get stronger, and beat down Superman. Superman, however, would eventually run into some kind of Kryptonite on Earth, even with the small ammount of it. Then Hulk would kill him. It would take a long time, though. Years maybe.
-And as for the whole "Just throw Hulk into space" thing, the Hulk can survive in space. He did it in a recent comic, fighting an anroid space-station.
-And Hulk's angre HAS NO LIMIT. He's moved planets with his strength.

As you can tell by my name, I love the Hulk. But Superman would totally kick his a$$. Maybe if they were trapped in a room and the Hulk was completely berzerk with rage, he would stand a chance. But even then, Superman has so much more going for him than strength. Heat vision, super speed, ice breath, and flight definitely make Superman far more powerful.

I love how everyone claims Supes would win. I admit, he'd put up a hell of a fight. But what the real kicker is: what's the difference between Hulk and Doomsday? Not much. I'd have to say Hulk pounds Superman into jelly and uses his cape to wipe his butt.

Superman. He would easily defeat Hulk by a flick of his finger. The Green One doesn't stand a chance against the man of Steel.

Hulk actually needs to be pretty angry to match Supes normal strength. This fight has occured in comics, back in the 70's, when Superman was a lot stronger than he is now. But his strength and speed are enough to allow Supes to throw him into space. Hulk couldn't survive thaat.

The Hulk and Superman both fight for righteousness, and the Hulk is anger motivated..so what would Superman have to do to pi$$ him off? Makes no sense -- they'd be fighting on the same side....dude. ;-)
