You must be having a hell lot to deal with. No wonder you don't have time to think about or feel for others. There is nothing wrong with you. You are perfectly normal.

I dont think there is a thing wrong with you. I fake empathy and remorse all of the time. I often find that if and when I do something and I am not sorry for it or sad about it, I feel like I have to be, because that is what a "normal" person would do. But I have gotten over that. If I am sorry, then I say sorry. If I am not then I move on. I dont think we as people should feel bad for everything that we do that may upset someone. We should feel bad if we set out to do bad things just for the sake of doing it. You are who you are and you just dont feel empathy. There are worse things in the world and lacking empathy isnt even in the top 100. Have a good one.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Seems like every man I have met in my life has had it. There is also a syndrome or disease that is in the Autism spectrum but I can't remember what it is called. Basically it is a mild form of Autism and I believe the only symptom seems to be lack of feeling for others.

By they way, it is not a character flaw but a disorder and can be treated. Seems like you might be ready to make a change. Please for every ones sake who loves you...DO get help. Don't listen to people who say you cant change because you can... I did...

I have so much feeling inside me now for people that I cant help but cry when they cry. I went through something called holding therapy as a child and it helped a lot. My problem started as a baby when I was unable to go home with my mother from the hospital. We never had a chance to bond.. we had a rough relationship until about a year before she died. She was also not the affectionate type. I am the opposite of that now.

no, it's hard on you, emotionally , if you feel for everyone else. you're ok to be sympathetic and not empathic.
