1) I liked the allegory it told. There are so few to see or read about. The story was easy to understand. I felt that the blindness of the character made the allegory even better.
2) The costume was a bit over the top. A mentally challenged person probably would not have conceived this.
3) The director is very talented. I think he will be remembered for his works for a long time.

1. I liked the idea behind it. Hiding a huge secret from a whole town made me wonder and it was interesting.

2. I believe that the ending could have had many possibilites. Putting the era back into somewhat present day was only one choise. M. Night could have gone many directions with it. I don't think throwing it into a different era pleased viewers.

3. I thought Joaquin Phoenix was perfect for the role of Lucius Hunt. Bryce Dallas Howard is also one of my favorite actresses now.

1. I LOVED loved loved the cinematography. The camera movements were very fluid and it was beautifully edited. I also liked the use of color in this film. The contrasting yellow and red, excellent!

My favorite scene is probably when they're holding the dance and then "those we do not speak of" came and everyone went into hiding. Ivy waiting for Lucius. AWESOME!

2. I didn't really like the twist Shyamalan had this time. It was rather predictable (for me, at least).

3. Wasn't one of Shyamalan's better works, but it was still beautifully done nonetheless.

Ooooo... well, isn't it nice that we all logged on for our movie history quiz!

Just kidding... in short, I thought that the plot was unrealistic, and felt that it was unrealistic for them to have that community in the woods that nobody in the "real world" knew existed..... even with all our modern technology.

It was also a disappointment that the mythical creatures were dismissed so quickly in the movie as being hoaxes. I think it would have been better for them to extend that.

I was not a huge fan of the movie.

I love the twists and turns all M. Night's ( I am not even going to try and butcher his last name) movies make. There were a few parts that were disturbing to watch, but thats all part of the fun of the movie...

I saw it. In the beginning, it got that same suspense as Signs until the story unfold and reveals that the retarded fellow {Adrien Brody} is the monster, and that they are all regular modern folks that want to live away from civilization. Very disappointed, i was expecting something similar to Signs.

My daughter says she hated the part where her sister dragged her to the theater to see it.
She loved it when the end credits came on.
All in all, I'd say she probably didn't care for the movie.
