Unfortunately, no. Flash drives are more like extra hard drives, rather than RAM. Your computer won't try to use a flash drive as RAM, which is where programs run when you start them. You need to either add more memory (which is fairly cheap and surprisingly easy to do with most computers, assuming there's room to add more) or get a new computer. Many now come with 1 GB of RAM. If you go that route and you really do need 1 GB of RAM to run this one big program, you probably want to get more than 1GB so that there's something left for the rest of the system to use.
If you want to analyze your system and/or find out which memory is compatible w/your machine, go to http://www.crucial.com. It's a very easy-to-use web site and they specialize in RAM.

You are mixing RAM memory with a storage device. A 1 GB USB Flash Drive is to store files; it doesn't change the operating RAM on your computer. This would be like installing a new hard drive and expecting to replace the RAM.
In short - nope.

If you have a DDR board and bought 1gb or ram. You probably spent more than it would have cost to build another pc. Either way. Your mobo has no info on it and you need to check the manual to see if it supports that much. If you already have it it's faster to put it in the slot of a different color and try it. Right click your my computer icon and goto properties and see how much ram you have at the bottom right.

No because that is just hard drive space not Random Access Memory. You can run the program from the drive if it is installed and if it doesnt require more than 1GB of memory

No, the flash drive is for storage only. Not for processing memory.
