you shouldn't make generalizations like that... there is some good rap music. you can't just listen to the the popular rap and assume it's all crap.

In every categories of music, there is a portion of it that sucks, I listen to ALL music, and I can't stand a lot of songs, but I am still open minded to the other billions of songs, and I have to say that I cannot stop listening to the songs that don't sound like crap. So yeah you may not be alone, but I am not apart of that group!

You sound like a grumpy old man! LOL. Get used to the sounds of new music, it is not going anywhere. I am sure if you searched there would be one or two songs you would like. I personaly do not like all of it but there is some great club/party music that is rap.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to taste in music. You have a right to your preference and so do I and so does everyone else.

What I can't take is when they insist that everyone around them listen to it, too, no matter what it is. There should definitely be a limit on the decibel level allowed on car stereos- by law and it should be enforced. And I mean no matter what kind of music is being played!

It isn't wrong. The sound of dying cats doesn't degrade women, promote hatred, violence and drug use. Old school rap doesn't really do that, but modern rap does.

Of course, being tortured by a recording of the sound of dying cats, while you're tied to a chair, may promote hatred, violence, and, if available, abnormal drug use.

No it's not wrong for you to feel that way. But it is wrong for you to judge Rap. Some people like it , and consider it a talent. Just because you don't like it doesnt mean nobody else should. If you can't find something nice to say...don't say anything at all.

Hey ,to all the people saying you shouldn't generalize, I agree.
HOWEVER-it is very easy to dislike rap, especially if you're into stuff with actual instruments.
I don't like it, and i know people do for whatever reason...it's an annoying genre. most songs sound alike, and they all have similar beats, borrowing from others. They're all about similar things too. There's little creativity and orginality in the genre.

Yes, it is. Anything is better than either of those two choices. But music is always better than the sound of dying or even fighting cats.

Yes, it's wrong. Even if you don't like it, still better than the sound of cats dying. That means you are a prejudiced person.
