Babe Ruth held the record for 43 years at 29 2/3 innings consecutive scoreless innings...He pitched one game in the 1916 WS, gave up one run in the first then threw 13 shutout innings in a 2-1 win, the 14 inning complete game is still a WS record..Ruth then pitched a game one shutout in the 1918 WS(1-0 win) then held the Cubs scoreless until the 8th in his next start(3-2 win) ....
The record was Broken by Whitey Ford in 1961 and still stands at 33 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings ....
